Minty Dolls are inspired by a button jointed doll I made in the past, but I wanted this version to have the freedom to be as outlandish and as goofy as she wanted to be. I think her minty color and many points of movement give her those qualities.

Minty Dolls are made with a rustic mint green linen, her eyes are Victorian shoe buttons and her fuzzy hair is a hand made wig from mohair. Her body is stuffed with Canadian wool and her arms and legs are button jointed with antique mother-of-pearl buttons to give her charming poseability. I’ve made her clothes from precious cotton and linen scraps from my own handmade wardrobe. Liliana’s dress is a block printed Merchant & Mills cotton lawn. Finally her cheeks are blushed with a natural beeswax crayon and a label of authenticity is stitched in place.

Each doll is hand made by me in my studio with love and under a scrupulous eye. I use carefully selected new & antique materials of the highest quality. My process ensures each doll is one of a kind and will be a cherished friend for years to come.
