Some dolls start off as a thought in their makers mind, some dolls are first felt in the heart as a strange pulling sensation, and some dolls manifest themselves through the hands of an unsuspecting maker. Little Imp manifested as i was cleaning up my studio at the end of the day. I watched as my hands grabbed at bits of fabric and wool. They threaded a needle to stitch ribbon and buttons. I held no thoughts, made no conscious decisions and before I knew it…there was little Imp.
Made from linen and firmly filled with Canadian wool, which is then needle felted with more wool to give a fuzzy, furry finish. The glossy white eyes are antique mother-of-purl buttons as are the leg joints which make little imp charmingly poseable. Dressed in a fine linen cloak tied with a silk ribbon, and delicate, hand painted slippers. This doll is 9” and very delicate, therefore not intended for children or unsupervised play. Each of my dolls comes in a handmade cotton drawstring bag for safe travels.
